Not only is Derrick Rose the NBA's 2011 MVP, he's also a Chicago native. We were approached to design and execute a t-shirt that reflected Derrick Rose's talent and local upbringing.

The design itself is entirely hand drawn, split into three colors. The rose is big, strong, red and shows a bull's head in its shadow. It's also bursting out of concrete in an alley. The urban skyline shows a view from the south side of Chicago. The 'Homegrown' shirt is stylish, soft, and cool enough to wear even in the off-season

The final shirts used three discharge prints on Asphalt American Apparel tees. Derrick Rose himself owns some of the shirts and loves them. No better compliment than that!
